This Nantucket Lightship Basket Tote is a 12″ Size with cherry handles and wood bottom made by William Kane. The carved cherry scallop shell on the side of the basket was done by Michael Kane. These Nantucket Lightship Basket Totes are made by William Kane, the only 3rd generation basket maker on the island. He is the son of Michael Kane, well known basket maker. Will makes his basket with oak construction and small tight weave like his father. These tote baskets have become very popular. You choose your size 9″, 10″, 12″ or 14″, then choose the color and length of your strap, the wood for your bottom and then choose your liner material. The liners are removable so you can change them out depending on what you are wearing or the time of year. You can choose to decorate the side of your basket or leave it plain. To order a Tote basket you need to choose your size of basket, type of wood for bottom, length of strap and type of liner.
